High Schools

Upward Bound

A federally funded initiative at Queens College CUNY, gives fundamental support to local public high school students in preparation for postsecondary education. For more than 40 years, the program has helped participants to graduate from high school and college, equipped with the necessary academic, social, and financial skills.

Upward bound serves high school students from low-income families and/or families in which neither parent holds a college degree. Our primary goal is to increase the rates at which these students enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

The program provides instruction in English literature and composition, math, laboratory science, and foreign language.
