Supporting Instructional Recovery where Learning Time Has Been Reduced

A global quality-improvement study of educational continuity, prioritised curriculum and equitable recovery of learning opportunity

Reduced learning time is not a uniform quantity that can be repaid simply by extending a calendar. Learners may lose different subjects, sequences, teaching quality and opportunities for practice even when their institutions close for the same number of days. Household resources, displacement, disability, language, safety and prior attainment shape whether alternative arrangements are usable. Instructional recovery should therefore restore credible opportunity to learn and progress, using time as one component of an educational response.
