How to define the object and scope

  • The certificate holder is the legal entity accountable for the object and the complete certified scope.
  • A brand, group company, partner, customer, franchisee or trading name is not certified unless it is expressly included in the public record under the holder's accountable control.
  • Included sites, activities, platforms, services, products, models, versions, learner or user groups, delivery modes, jurisdictions, material third parties and exclusions must be identifiable.
  • An exclusion cannot remove an applicable requirement while the related activity remains inside the scope.
  • A later site, release, model, integration or jurisdiction is not certified until the required scope review, verification and decision are complete.
  • Separate certification objects require separate applications, evidence records, decisions, certificates and public records even where the legal entity is the same.

International School is not a fourth certification object. A school applies as an Education Organization; the separately published International School fee profile may apply to the confirmed school scope.

What the public certificate record identifies

If certification is granted, the certificate and Public Certificate Register identify the legal holder, certification object, approved scope and exclusions, governing ICEQC standards and editions, certificate number, effective and expiry dates and current status. They do not certify an entity, activity, service, product or version outside that record.
