ICEQC mandate
ICEQC may establish education quality requirements, accept applications, determine an appropriate certification scope, conduct assessment, make certification decisions and maintain certification status. These functions arise from the ICEQC standards system and the voluntary certification agreement with the applicant.
A positive decision means that ICEQC found conformity with every applicable requirement for the exact certification object and edition stated. It is not a general approval of the holder or of activities outside the public scope.
Matters outside the mandate
Government authorization
ICEQC does not authorize an organization to operate and does not exercise a ministry, regulator or public-law function.
Licensing
ICEQC certification is not a school, provider, professional, product, premises or activity licence.
Accreditation
ICEQC does not represent its certification as governmental institutional or programme accreditation.
Academic recognition
ICEQC does not recognize degrees, award credit, establish equivalency or determine admission, transfer or immigration outcomes.
Reading an ICEQC claim
- Check the legal holder against the Public Certificate Register.
- Read the certified scope, exclusions, applicable document and edition.
- Confirm that the status is current on the date the claim is relied upon.
- Do not extend the claim to a parent, subsidiary, franchisee, partner, campus, programme or product unless it is expressly included.
