ICEQC certification may be represented only in a manner that preserves the legal holder, exact certified scope, applicable edition and current status.

Permitted content

  • The certified legal holder and, where recorded, its trading name.
  • The complete or accurately delimited certified scope.
  • The applicable ICEQC certification scheme, standard and edition.
  • The certificate number, validity dates and current public status.
  • The ICEQC mark in the authorized form, size, context and medium.

Claims that are not permitted

Extended scope

Applying certification to an unlisted parent, subsidiary, franchisee, partner, location, programme, service, product or claim.

Regulatory meaning

Describing certification as governmental approval, a licence, statutory accreditation or permission to operate.

Academic meaning

Claiming degree recognition, credit, academic equivalency, admission entitlement or guaranteed learner outcomes.

Comparative status

Presenting certification as a ranking, score, grade, tier, award or proof of superiority over another provider.

Status changes

The holder must amend or discontinue claims when the scope or status changes. ICEQC may require correction, withdrawal of material, notification to affected parties or other action necessary to prevent continued public reliance on an inaccurate claim.
