Consultation notices
Each public consultation notice identifies the document or proposal, consultation questions, response period, submission route and treatment of personal or confidential information. The notice remains the authoritative source for the scope and closing time of the consultation.
Consultation records distinguish an active response period from a completed consultation and any authorized outcome notice. Draft text has no certification effect unless and until it is approved and published in the Standards Register as a controlled document.
How consultation input is considered
- Responses are recorded against the consultation questions and relevant document provisions.
- Technical relevance, affected-party perspective, implementation impact and evidence are considered.
- The number or market position of respondents does not determine the result by itself.
- A consultation does not transfer approval authority to respondents and does not guarantee adoption of a proposal.
Consultation record
Following completion, ICEQC may publish an outcome notice describing the issues considered and the disposition of material proposals. Personal information, confidential submissions and internal review records are not included unless disclosure is authorized and appropriate.
