Status of guidance
A guidance note supports consistent understanding of a standard, scheme or procedure. Where a guidance statement and a normative requirement appear inconsistent, the controlled normative document governs. Certification findings are made against applicable requirements, not against optional examples in guidance.
Guidance subjects
Scope preparation
Identifying the legal holder, included operations, delivery modes, dependencies and exclusions.
Evidence preparation
Organizing current, authentic and representative evidence without producing material solely for the assessment.
Remote verification
Preparing authorized access to people, data, systems, demonstrations and specialist records.
Public claims
Describing certification accurately and checking that a proposed statement does not extend beyond the register record.
Requests for clarification
A general clarification may be requested through Contact ICEQC. ICEQC does not provide an applicant with a tailored system, policy or corrective solution that it would later assess for certification.
