Certification control

Certification Rules and Procedures

The certification rules govern scheme operation, remote evidence, findings, corrective action, independent decisions, appeals and surveillance.

Independent review of education quality evidence

General certification rules

The general rules establish common controls for applications, impartiality, competence, scope, assessment, review, decisions, certificates, public claims, confidentiality and certification status. A scheme may add object-specific controls but cannot remove a common decision safeguard.

Remote evidence procedure

The remote evidence procedure governs acquisition, authentication, sampling, corroboration, interviews, demonstrations, witnessing, evidence limitations and use of specialist or independently recognized records.

Findings, decisions and surveillance

The decision procedure separates factual confirmation, nonconformity, corrective action, technical review, certification decision, appeal and continuing status control. No positive decision is available while an applicable nonconformity remains open.
