Certification scheme

A certification scheme identifies the certification object, eligible applicant, permitted scope, exclusions, applicable documents, evidence methods, certification cycle, surveillance arrangements, certificate fields and public claims. It is the operating bridge between the common requirements and a specific application.

Applicability modules

Sector module

Adds requirements for material conditions of an education sector, such as K–12, early childhood, higher education or extracurricular education.

Delivery overlay

Adds requirements for a delivery condition such as remote, online, blended or digitally mediated education.

Scope profile

Records the particular entities, locations, learner groups, programmes, modes, technologies, providers and exclusions assessed.

Applicability record

States which requirements apply and provides the objective basis for any proposed non-applicability.
