Name
1.1 This document is ICEQC-EDT-3140, AI-Enabled Educational Service Quality Applicability Module.
Purpose
2.1 This document establishes object-specific education quality requirements within a controlled ICEQC certification scope.
Certification boundary
3.1 Certification is voluntary, applies only to the stated scope and does not confer governmental authority, a licence, institutional recognition, academic equivalency, a ranking or approval of education content.
Conformity determination
4.1 Each applicable requirement shall be determined only as C or NC. NA requires confirmed objective non-applicability. Certification is prohibited while any applicable requirement is NC or any nonconformity remains open.
Remote assessment
5.1 Assessment is conducted remotely through controlled documents, data, interviews, demonstrations, independent sampling and suitable specialist evidence. ICEQC does not conduct routine on-site assessment.
Artificial intelligence use-case scope
6.1 The provider shall define each automated or adaptive use case, affected users, decisions, outputs, versions, dependencies and prohibited uses. 6.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 6.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 6.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Accountability and human authority
7.1 Accountable human roles shall approve use, monitor operation, intervene and determine consequential action. 7.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 7.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 7.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Data provenance and suitability
8.1 Data used to develop, configure, evaluate or operate the function shall have controlled provenance, rights, quality, representation and limitations. 8.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 8.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 8.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
User transparency
9.1 Affected users shall receive intelligible information about the function, purpose, material limitations, data use and available human route. 9.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 9.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 9.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Human oversight and override
10.1 Human review, override and escalation shall be available and effective wherever an output may materially affect a learner. 10.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 10.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 10.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Child and vulnerable-user safeguards
11.1 Automated interaction with minors or vulnerable users shall use age-appropriate limits, monitoring, consent and escalation. 11.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 11.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 11.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Harmful and unsuitable output control
12.1 The provider shall test, constrain, detect and respond to output capable of causing educational, safety, dignity or rights harm. 12.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 12.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 12.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Fairness and material group effects
13.1 Evaluation shall identify and address material performance differences and unjustified adverse effects among relevant learner groups. 13.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 13.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 13.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Evaluation and release gate
14.1 Defined quality, safety and educational-use tests shall pass before release and after material change. 14.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 14.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 14.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Monitoring and drift
15.1 The provider shall monitor performance, use, complaints, incidents, drift and changed operating conditions. 15.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 15.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 15.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Feedback, challenge and correction
16.1 Users shall be able to report, challenge and correct material output or data through a timely human-controlled route. 16.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 16.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 16.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
Privacy, security and prompt control
17.1 Inputs, outputs, prompts, retrieved information, logs and privileged controls shall be protected and purpose-limited. 17.2 Application — Applies throughout every scope component using this standard. 17.3 Non-applicability — NA is not available where the stated condition exists. 17.4 Determination — Conformity exists only where current, attributable and verified evidence establishes this requirement across the complete applicable scope.
